For 8  years David has been teaching puppetry classes in NYC: Puppetry For Improvisors levels 1 & 2, Puppetry for TV, Film and Video, and more. In 2014 Paul McGinnis (Crank Yankers, Sesame Street) came on board as an instructor and teaches with us regularly much to the glee of everyone involved. 

Here’s what’s coming up! 

This is a beginner level class. No previous puppetry experience is required, and if you DO have some experience and want to build a better base this is definitely the right class for you too.

EVERYONE who participates will be provided with “practice eyes” and a hand made, professional-style practice PUPPET that are theirs TO KEEP!

Class size: 10 students MAX.

$425 (Includes puppet and eyes mentioned above.. what a steal!)

• Working with the camera and monitor
• Stance, eye focus, mouth sync, walks, and rod manipulation
• Improvised scenes
• Working with human actors
• Character building
• Vocal Characterization

*** If you are considering taking this course you want to be sure to have some time for practicing at home throughout the week with a camera/monitor setup of your own. This can be as simple as a laptop and an external web cam.
The learning comes from the class but the skill comes from practice!
